There is that although the similarity is not quite as pronounced.
Strawberries is a very good album. Not quite up there with the Black Album (Curtain Call is Vanian's Bohemian Rhapsody).
Bit of trivia - Hans Zimmer prodived the Black Album and brought all his synths to the recording session which Captain Sensible got to play with so extra parts got added in the studio. The snatch of Scheherizade on Curtain Call was Hans Zimmer's idea. It worked.

Re: Music on the tele.
They didn't sue, maybe because Killing Joke nicked the riff first from a 1982 Damned song called Life goes on. Still Nirvana basically copied the whole sound of Killing Joke era 84/85.

Good story that Zeb. I guess The Joke were Nirvana fans and vice versa.

Bungo yes it's well known it's a rip off. Not sure whether they sued or not

Fair enough. Grohl on drums on your album would probably be payment enough.

Re: Music on the tele.
This was in a long interview which is on youtube. Dave Grohl recorded the drums one drum at a time. Paul Ferguson moaned that this made it impossible for him to play some of drum arrangements live as he'd need 4 arms to do it.

They did send a letter to Nirvana's management complaining about it but never filed a lawsuit.
When Dave Grohl played drums on one of their albums Jaz Coleman took the piss out of him remorselessly and got him to kneel down and apologise.

America's Top 10 with Kasey KASEM

The Hitman and Her got interesting when the house/acid scene started to take over and Waterman knew the game was up

The riff on Eighties is very very similar to Come As You Are. Did they ever sue Nirvana for this?

Anyone see the Robert Plant documentry on BBC4 the other week?

He went on the greatest musical journey after Zeppelin split, played and recorded in some very unlikely olaces. Should still be on i player if any of you fancy it.

Saw an interview with Captain Sensible about that show.
After they rehearsed for they he said they got absolutely legless in the green with room with Annie Nightingale.
She snapped out of it as soon as the cameras got rolling and they didn't.
He also said that when he swiched from guitar to organ for Just can't be happy today he'd left his guitar's volume turned up by accident and it was feeding back. This put him off his keyboard parts (he'd only just learned how to play) and he was trying attract the attention of Dave Vanian or one of the crew to turn his guitar down but they all ignored him.
He tipped the keyboard over when he finally lost his rag.

Loved The Word back in its day. Some questionable production techniques and presenters, but some fucking great live bands on each week all booked, as I recall, by a young Jo Whiley...

Another from this period that was good was a late night show called The Beat, introduced by Gary Crowley. Again, just great Indie bands each week filmed live from, I think, either The Astoria or the old Town and Country Club, can't remember now...
